Vanessa Palmer

Studied at Canberra Uni and then married and worked in the area of Family Support and Community Development.I have two boys Oliver who is 12 and William who is 10. We are living in Queanbeyan and love it. End of last year I had a career change and moved into local government. I now work with Queanbeyan City Council in the Environment Department. I am the coordinator of the waste minimisation and resource recovery. Very exciting area to be working in the current climate. I have also had a big change in my family situation this year as I separated from my husband after 15 years. So this year has been challenging. But I am now looking forward to the future and more exciting challenges, hopefully not quite as emotionally draining as the last one.Look forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion.

Fran Bodel

Since our 10 year reunion I've: gotten divorced; come out; resigned from the dreary, melamine coated, grey carpeted, personality-sapping Public Service, moved to Brisbane with my girlfriend and am finally doing what I always wanted - cooking! I've a beautiful 10 year old Devon Rex cat, Cassanova and a 5 month old Mastiff, Jordan.

Genevieve Holloway

I’m writing this on behalf of my sister Genevieve. Genny died in May, 2005 from a cancer of unknown origin after a short illness. She died as she lived, with grace and dignity and on her own terms.

But focusing on the positive, Genny achieved so much in her life. She traveled widely around the world. She was an very successful project manager for Telstra. She was studying for a degree in business administration. She was a devoted auntie, daughter, sister and friend. She brought light into every life she touched and was always so strong, holding up those she loved when they faltered.

As I think about Genny, one of the things that strikes me most is the amazing friends she made while she was at St Clares. From year 7 to the hours when she drew her last breaths she was surrounded by some of the most special women on the planet. Through her wellness and her illness she had Melanie, Cate, Rachel, Lisa, Alli, Trish, and Jacqui, laughing, celebrating, crying and grieving with her.

I hope you all enjoy your 20 year reunion, and remember Genny with a smile – those of you who knew her will recall how bored she got with self pity!

Aristea Toula Apostolopoulos

Toula is living in Canberra, after finishing St Clares, I went onto Tafe and completed my Diploma in Hospitality and in Real Estate.

I worked with the Estee Lauder Company for 5 years. In that time I met and married my husband Spiro, and had two children. We own Babar Cafe and Bar in Canberra and Sydney, we are busy with work and the kids, but manage to take two weeks off a year and travel. In our spare time (which is not much) we show and breed our Collie rough dogs. What does the future bring? SURPRISE ME!!!!

Kathy Marris

Kath is married to Andrew McNamara, pictured above. She has only recently moved back to the capital after selling her family home in Bulli, Wollongong. She works at the department of immigration and sadly has to return soon to work from her lovely maternity leave!
Picture below is Oliver, her first son who was born in September last year.

Penny Gaughan

Penny recently moved to Dubai after living in Darwin for many years. She was offered a terrific role in Dubai which was too good to pass up. She may not be in Canberra for the reunion but like many other absentees will open a bottle of champers to celebrate!

Sarah Wilson Buchanan

Sarah married Scott in 1994 and has three beautiful kids – 13 year old twin girls Emily and Jessica and a 10 year old son Connor. Pictured – Scott, Emily, Connor, Jessica and Sarah on a recent family holiday on the Great Ocean Road. Jessica and Emily are in Year 8 at St Clare’s and Connor is in Year 4 at Marist. We lived in Chisholm for over 10 years and built a house in Pearce and moved into it a bit over three years ago. Ran my own secretarial company for over 10 years, and in the past year became a public servant for the very first time - working with FaHCSIA.

All going well I’ll be at the reunion in November and looking forward to catching up with everyone. Contact: Sarah Buchanan sarah.buchanan@bigpond.com

EL CAPITANO MARIA ROBERTS MURPHY

Wen to to Brizzy for a year to start a B.AppSc. Finished that off at Canberra uni in 1992. Moved to Wollongong in 1993 to do my MSc (Nutrition & Dietetics). Completed that in December 2004 and moved to Orange to start my first job as a Community Dietitian - vowed never to study again and take my hat off to anyone whose studying as a mature aged student!

Moved to Newcastle in 1996 to start work as a Clinical Dietitian at John Hunter Hospital and have been in Newey ever since. Currently working at the Mater Hospital 2 days/week as a Clinical Dietitian, having gone back to work in 02/2008 after 12 months off on maternity leave. Married Phil (a Pom whose greatest loves are beer, soccer, his kids, God & me - not necessarily in that order!!!!) in November 2003.

Have travelled back to the UK with Phil to visit his family a couple of times (with the mandatory stop-overs to Europe and Vietnam!) and have also done a couple of short term mission trips to Russia (in 2002 & 2005). We have 2 little boys of our own -Jack (10/2005) and Sam (02/2007) and a foster daughter Heidi (06/1994) who has been in our care since 05/2007 (long-term placement).

Phil & I had a ball as Youth leaders at our Church for about 8 years (before kids) but have very little spare time on our hands these days parenting a teenager and 2 little bubs. Weekdays are now filled with work, day care, homework, kindergym, soccer training and gym and weekends are filled with swimming lessons, soccer games and Church. Life is busy but Iwouldn't have it any other way.

Cheers!
Maria
